Before entering real estate, Chantell earned a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy with a concentration in Housing and Community Development from Texas Southern University. She began her career as a City Planner in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and later served as a City Planner for League City, Texas, where she specialized in zoning, land use, development regulations, and community planning.

Her transition into real estate began while managing site acquisition projects for wireless communication towers. Inspired by the opportunity to help families build wealth through homeownership, she earned her real estate license in 2015 and quickly discovered her true calling. Her passion for serving others and commitment to excellence ultimately led her to establish NextHome Executives.
Today, Chantell combines her planning expertise, market knowledge, and innovative marketing strategies with NextHome’s industry-leading technology to deliver a seamless real estate experience. Whether representing first-time homebuyers, luxury sellers, investors, or families relocating to Houston, she brings the same responsiveness, transparency, and proactive communication to every transaction — from the first consultation through closing day.

Chantell holds several nationally recognized real estate designations, including Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS®), and Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA®). She is an active member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, Houston Black Real Estate Association, Greater Houston Builders Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Outside of real estate, community service remains one of Chantell’s greatest passions. She founded Sanctuary Living Co., a women’s recovery housing organization dedicated to providing safe, structured housing for women rebuilding their lives through recovery. She also volunteers with The Bag Ladies Organization, collecting and distributing feminine hygiene supplies to women experiencing homelessness throughout Houston, and sponsors a garden bed at the Blodgett Community Garden, where fresh fruits and vegetables are grown for residents of Houston’s Third Ward. She is also an active member of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, where she serves on the Courtesy Corps Leadership Team.

Originally from Lumberton, Mississippi, Chantell is the proud wife of Walner Leandre Sr., mother of two sons, Carter and Walner II (“Deuce”), and dog mom to Cooper, their beloved Lab mix rescue. When she’s not serving clients, you’ll find her cheering from the stands at track meets, at the playground with her boys, enjoying the outdoors with her family, or exploring all that the Houston area has to offer.
